Date:

On May 14, 2024 Dennis Bodden, 46, was shot and killed by a Pineville police officer in Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

The situation began when Dennis entered a Food Lion on Johnston Road. Food employees told a Pineville cop that Dennis was stealing. The cop was working security at the grocery store.

Dennis attempted to walk out of the store, and the cop followed him trying to stop him. A fight began, and Dennis was able to escape the officer’s grasp.

Dennis then ran across the street to an apartment complex. The cop followed and shot a taser gun at Dennis, but the electrical volts did not stop Dennis.

Another cop arrived and tasered Dennis to no avail. Cops say Dennis then lunged at one of the cops and tried to take the officer’s gun.

That is when the original officer on scene shot and killed Dennis, according to police. Dennis died on scene. The officers were not shot, but they did have minor bruises.
