A head on crash killed a young man in Charlotte,he had graduated from UNCP
Darian Ivan Gueta-Macias, 23, was killed in October 2025 after being hit by a car on South Tryon Street Charlotte, NC. Darian was a recent graduate of The University of North Carolina Pembroke.

The crash was on Oct. 7, 2025 at 6:24 p.m., Darian was crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk when a Lexus car collided with the victim.
The driver of the Lexus was screened for impairment and was found to not be impaired. A toxicology report is pending for Mr. Macias.
Speed does not appear to be a contributing factor for the collision. Mr. Macias was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. On Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025 Mr. Macias was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
