LARGE APARTMENT FIRE DISPLACES 28 PEOPLE

On January 29, 2022 a fire occurred on English Hills Drive Charlotte, NC at The Oasis Regal Oaks Apartments around 1 in the afternoon. A structure fire started at the apartments. 3 stories of an apartment building caught fire. On scene, heavy fire was seen showing on the 2nd & 3rd floors.

Heavy winds threw the fire to other apartments bordering the initial fire.

Several victims suffered from smoke inhalation and had to be rescued. There were injuries reported, however, no one has died yet. 28 people were displaced due to the fire. The American Red Cross is assisting with the residents who were left homeless.

The fire remains under investigation. Damage from the fire estimates at $330,000.
