Even as an illegal immigrant, the suspect was still able to get a job at Mather Childcare Center. He is accused of taking a girl in the closet and having sexual relations during a fake game of hide and seek
Gokhan Bagci, 26, is accused of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl at the Mather Childcare Center daycare in Sacramento, CA. Gokhan is an illegal immigrant from Turkey that has been deported from the USA twice.
Gokhan worked at the Mather Childcare Center daycare. He was arrested in August 2025.
Bagci lured the girl into a closet pretending to play hide-and-seek, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her. He then allegedly brought the girl into a bathroom and raped her that same day.
The facility primarily serves members of the Turkish immigrant community, where many employees, children, and families have limited English proficiency.
The girl was acting strange when she got home that day. Her mother noticed the odd behavior and asked her what happened. The girl told her mom that she had been sexually assaulted at daycare by an employee. The mom then reported the information to police.
Gokhan was then arrested by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, and ICE lodged a detainer for him the same day. He has been charged with lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age.
Gokhan first illegally entered the United States by crossing the southern border on November 21, 2023. Although he was arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Biden Administration released him into the country.
On December 12, 2023, he flew to Istanbul, Turkey, and later illegally re-entered the country by crossing the southern border again on September 17, 2024.
