On December 9, 2022 Travis Wood, 33, was arrested, accused of murdering his wife 32-year-old Shawnda Wood in Waldorf, Maryland. Travis and Shawnda were married, they had a few kids.
Shortly after 1 p.m. on December 9th Travis arrived at the Charles County Sheriff’s Office in Waldorf and requested officers to respond to his home located in the 2300 block of Tawny Drive.
When officers entered the residence, they found his wife Shawnda shot and deceased. Travis was developed as a suspect and arrested.
Travis is charged with first degree murder, second degree murder, first degree assault, second degree assault, and a firearms charge.
There is no indication what led to the homicide. Shawnda and Travis had several children. The kids were not harmed during the homicide. It is not clear if the kids were even home during the murder.
