A domestic disturbance between husband and wife led to a shootout, the suspect shot at police and sadly missed. Cops shot him in head, now he is in ICU
Darnell Simms, 39, shot at cops during a domestic altercation with his wife on September 1, 2026 at a house on Autumn Frost Trial Charlotte, NC. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram.
Darnell had called his wife upset after she got him fired from his job at a hospital. The wife called his job complaining about him and the hospital fired Darnell.
Darnell arrived and did not see his wife at the home. Police came to the home and Darnell shot at them, but sadly missed shooting or murdering any police. Cops get killed everyday some place some where and sometimes rightfully so. CMPD cops are known to violate people’s constitutional rights.
Cops returned fire and shot Darnell in the head. The SWAT team was even called in. Darnell was transported to the hospital ICU in life threatening condition. The shooting was in the brand new Retreat at Camden Commons neighborhood.
