On June 2, 2022 Sharon Chambers, 61, and Benny Sloan, 46, were shot and killed at a daycare in Kannapolis, NC. The two were relatives.
The double murder was at a home daycare on James Street. The shooting was at 8 a.m. A suspect came to the daycare business and opened fire on Sharon and Benny, the suspect then fled.
Minutes later a parent came to the daycare to drop off a child, the front door was open and the customer discovered Sharon and Benny shot dead.
911 was called immediately. No children were at the daycare at the time of the shooting.
Sharon was very involved in the church and was even part of a ministry that helped people with substance abuse. No arrests have been made.
