Sarah Ward was found dead and decomposed in a dirty lake
46-year-old Sarah Ward was found dead in a lake in Charlotte, NC on May 30, 2025. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram. Sarah had been missing for a while.
Sarah’s body was found by cleaning crews in a lake on Golf Acres Drive. A dive team was sent out to recover Sarah from the muddy dirty water.
Sarah was dead and decomposed, her body had been in the water for a extended amount of time. Sarah’s skin was slipping away from her bones.
Homicide Unit detectives also responded to the scene to conduct an investigation. At this time, it is not known how Sarah died. An autopsy will be conducted, but it would be difficult to make a death analysis due to the severity of Sarah’s bodily decomposition.
