A slew of students at black colleges have died this year, most recently Kelvin Broadhurst at NC A&T University
20-year-old Kelvin Broadhurst played football at NC A&T State University, he was killed in a motorcycle crash on April 11, 2026. Kelvin was a junior at the school, NC A&T University is known as a Historically Black College University, HBCU.

Kelvin was on the football team as a defensive lineman. He had 31 tackles and one sack in 3 years of playing at the collegiate level.
Pertaining to his death, Kelvin was on I-40 in Greensboro, NC riding a motorcycle when he lost control and hit a guard rail. The collision threw Kelvin off the motorcycle and into a wooded embankment.
Kelvin died on scene. No other vehicles were involved. A host of students at black colleges have died this year.
