A major accident involving a Charlotte Mecklenburg School bus occurred on May 11, 2022 on Sharon Road Charlotte, NC. The bus was headed to South Mecklenburg High, a 3 vehicle wreck injured several people at 8:00 a.m.
The wreck involved a bus and dump truck collision along with a 3rd vehicle.
One person has life threatening injuries and one has serious injuries. 40 students were on the bus at the time of the accident. 15 students were hurt. Multiple medical units were sent out including the medic mass casualty bus.
The bus driver was pinned in the bus and had to be freed by the Charlotte Fire Department. Medic was coordinating with hospitals to transport patients to multiple locations.
