On January 23, 2026 27-year-old Jawonn McIlwain was arrested accused of murdering 23-year-old Elijah Parker near the Optimist Hall food court in Charlotte, NC.
Elijah was shot and killed on January 14, 2026. The shooting happened outside of the Optimist Hall property near the CSX railroad tracks on Alpha Mill Lane.
Elijah was shot and pronounced dead at the scene. Jawonn was arrested a week later charged with murder. He has no bond. In fact Jawonn has been arrested for murder in the past.
