Mark Ellis, 25, was arrested on July 22, 2021 charged with the murder of Catrell Hollaway, 31. The murder was in Charlotte, NC but Mark was arrested in Valencia, California.
Catrell was shot and killed on January 31, 2021 on Windy Valley Drive Charlotte, NC. A random person found Cartrell’s body in the woods and alerted authorities.
Cartrell was shot and then dumped in the woods.
As a result of continued investigation, homicide unit detectives identified Mark as a suspect in this case and warrants were issued for his arrest. On July 22, 2021, Mark was arrested in Valencia, California, after a collaborative effort between the FBI and California police.
Mark will be extradited to North Carolina at a later date and charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
