Jermani Thompson, 26, was killed in a on the job accident on August 30, 2022 at the Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Jermani was an employee at the airport. Jermani was unloading baggage from a flight at 10:20 p.m. when her hair got caught in an conveyor belt. Jermani quickly became entangled with the heavy duty machinery.
It is not clear if Jermani was strangled by the machinery or if she was cut. Jermani was freed from the conveyor and rushed to the hospital, she later died within the hour.
Jermani is a former basketball player at Tougaloo College in Jackson, Mississippi.
