AIRLINE EMPLOYEE IDENTIFIED THAT WAS SMASHED BY LUGGAGE HAULING VEHICLE

The airport is a busy place, employee Kendrick Hudson lost his life when a heavy luggage tug smashed him to death. A airline employee at Charlotte Douglas International Airport was killed in a accident. The employee identified as Kendrick Hudson, 24, was crushed by a luggage hauling tug on August 11, 2019 around 10 at night.

Airport Division patrol officers responded to an accident call on the ramp near Concourse E involving a tug. Kendrick was the employee driving the tug.

As Kendrick was operating the tug officials say he was unable to avoid striking a piece of luggage that had been dropped on the tarmac. As a result of striking the luggage and Kendrick making a hard right turn, the tug rolled onto its’ left side.

As the Tug rolled, Kendrick was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle then landed on Kendrick killing him. Paramedics responded to the scene, but Kendrick was pronounced deceased at the hospital.  

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified and they will conduct a separate investigation.
