2 MEN NOT GUILTY OF MURDERING CHARLOTTE MAN

Murder charges on Davenon Farmer, 45, and Demetric Williams, 46, were dismissed in trial court on March 4, 2024 after a jury could not reach a guilty verdict on the suspects. The suspects were on trial accused of murdering 44-year-old William Jacobs in Charlotte, NC.

William was shot and killed on Timberbrook Drive at apartments in April 2018. 

At 10 p.m. the victim was inside of an apartment along with several other individuals when William was shot. William died on the scene.

Davenon was arrested the next day charged with murder. It took 4 years after the murder for Demetric to be arrested. In 2022 Demetric was arrested and charged with murder.

At trial in 2024 The Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Homicide Team tried both suspects for first-degree murder, two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the 2018 murder.

On March 4, 2024, jurors indicated to the court that they were unable to

reach a unanimous verdict. As a result, the Judge declared a mistrial.
