At 5:23 a.m. a police SUV was rear ended allegedly by the vehicle Aaron was driving on January 26th. Several officers were blocking Independence Blvd. near Bojangles Coliseum due to a busted water pipe.

Police vehicles had their blue lights activated and were diverting traffic. A vehicle allegedly driven by Aaron then struck the rear of a police SUV.

One officer was inside the police SUV and one officer was standing next to that SUV when they were struck.

The suspect vehicle became disabled from the crash. Two of its four occupants fled from the scene on foot. Officers located one of the suspects shortly afterwards and detained him.

Aaron was arrested a few hours later. The other suspects have not been found. Aaron is charged with felony hit and run and resisting an officer.

Two police officers were injured and taken to the hospital. Sadly, both officers are expected to be okay.
