MS-13 GANG MEMBER GETS DEPORTED

On August 9, 2023 Jose Erick Ramos Cruz, 45, was deported out of Houston, Texas back to his home country of El Salvador. Jose was a member of the brutal transnational criminal street gang Mara Salvatrucha-13, commonly called MS-13.

Jose illegally entered the United States on Feb. 5, 2016, near Hidalgo, Texas, and was immediately apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol. 

On Feb. 7, 2016, Border Patrol officials released Jose on an order of recognizance pending disposition of his immigration proceedings.

On April 26, 2016, Jose failed to report for an immigration hearing, and he was ordered removed from the United States in absentia by an immigration judge with the Justice Department.

On May 17, 2023, ERO Houston fugitive operations officers arrested Jose in Houston, Texas. He was taken into ICE custody and detained at the Montgomery Processing Center in Conroe, Texas, until his removal on Aug. 9.
