ICE AGENTS DRAG MAN OUT OF COURT FOR DEPORTATION

Date:

Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested a man while he was at court and dragged him out of the court building. The man now faces deportation.

Leonardo Hernandez, 32, was in the Mecklenburg County court today for assault on female and kidnapping charges.

The government shutdown did not stop ICE from rounding up illegal immigrants in Charlotte.

ICE agents dressed in plain clothes approached Leonardo and told him he was under arrest. Leonardo began to resist, and a struggle ensued.

Agents were able to subdue Leonardo and place him in cuffs. Leonardo was dragged out of the court building and taken to jail, arrested on immigration charges.

ICE is coming down hard on Mecklenburg County ever since Sheriff Garry McFadden stripped away the 287 (g) program.

The program made it easier for ICE to detain immigration suspects who were in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Jail.

Another individual was arrested today too in court, but their identity hasn’t been disclosed yet.
