Maria arrived in Charlotte on April 22, 2022. Maria was staying with a friend on her first day in the United States. Maria and her friends decided to go out to celebrate life on Friday night.

The women got a bite to eat and a few drinks. Maria and her friends separated that night with a group of other men and women. That was the last time Maria was seen alive. Maria ingested cocaine and fentanyl during her night out.

Unfortunately, Maria was found deceased in a vacant residence on April 24th. Maria had minor blunt force injuries and petechial hemorrhages at her lower eyelids. She also had an abrasion to her left face.

Cocaine and fentanyl were found in Maria’s bodily system. Maria’s cause of death is combined cocaine and fentanyl toxicity.
