ATRIUM HEALTH NURSE ACCUSED OF STEALING FENTANYL FROM CHARLOTTE HOSPITAL

Katherine Rupert, 26, was arrested on January 16, 2024. She was a nurse at Atrium Health Hospital in Charlotte, NC where she was accused of stealing fentanyl from the hospital while on the job.

Katherine was an active nurse at the hospital, she had access to the fentanyl to fulfill her nurse duties on patients. At some point fentanyl began to come up missing in inventory.

An investigation was launched by the hospital and Katherine was accused of stealing fentanyl from the hospital and taking it home with her. Click here to see the many lives that fentanyl has destroyed.

Atrium Health fired Katherine after determining the fentanyl in the hospital supply was missing.

Katherine was then arrested and charged with theft related offenses.
