$1.4 MILLION WORTH OF COCAINE FOUND HIDDEN IN TRUCK

$1.4 million worth of cocaine was found in Los Indios, Texas at a border checkpoint on February 12, 2022. 

The seizure was at the Los Indios International Bridge at a United States port of entry. A 32-year-old male Mexican citizen was accompanied by a 40-year-old female Mexican citizen. They both applied for entry into the United States aboard a 2015 Ford truck.

The vehicle was referred to secondary for further examination after a primary inspection. In secondary, with the aid of a non intrusive imaging system and a canine unit, officers discovered 77 packages hidden within the 2015 Ford truck. Officers removed the packages, which contained a total of 187.70 pounds of cocaine.

The estimated street value of the narcotics from the seizure is approximately $1,447,380.

Officers seized the narcotics along with the vehicle, arrested the travelers and turned them over to the custody of Homeland Security Investigations special agents for further investigation.
