MAN MURDERED AT QUIK TRIP GAS STATION ON MEMORIAL DAY

A young man identified as Donald Scott Taylor, 21, was shot and killed on Memorial Day 2022 at Quik Trip gas station on Central Ave. Charlotte, NC. The shooting was in the midst of a drag racing investigation.

Around 11:41 p.m., officers responded to a drag racing disturbance. While officers were on scene of the drag racing disturbance call, shots were fired at a location across the street from where the officers were located.

As it turned out, Scottie was involved in a minor fender bender in the Quik Trip parking lot causing minor scratches and bumps. The occupants in the hit vehicle got out of the car and shot at Scottie several times. 

There was a mass flight of vehicles from the area where the shots were fired. The officers immediately responded to where they had heard the shots being fired and located Scottie suffering from gunshot wounds. Scottie died on the scene.

No suspects have been arrested.

A victim was murdered on Deep Rock Circle on Memorial Day.

Garreath Bickham, 35, was shot and killed on Memorial Day weekend.

Ricky Dinkins, 31, was killed in a fatal motor vehicle collision on Memorial Day weekend.

A 4-month-old baby and his father were murdered in a double homicide on Memorial Day weekend.

A child was shot in Charlotte on Memorial Day weekend.
