MOTHER MURDERED DURING MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND, 2 MEN ARRESTED

29-year-old Ashly Marquez was murdered during Memorial Day weekend on May 29, 2021 in Charlotte, NC. June Brantley, 30, and Troy Privette, 31, were charged in connection to Ashly’s murder.

Monica Smith was killed during Memorial Day weekend 2019.

Shortly after 4:00 p.m., on May 29, 2021, officers responded to a welfare check 911 call on Biscayne Drive in Charlotte. When they arrived, officers located Ashly dead. Ashly had several kids. 

Arianna Edmonds was murdered on Biscayne Drive also in 2019. Arianna was found dead in the woods.  

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation as foul play had been suspected in Ashly’s murder. 

As a result of continued investigation and assistance from the Real Time Crime Center, detectives were able to identify two suspects in this case. June was arrested and charged with 1st degree murder and concealing a death.  

Troy was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact (Murder) and concealing a death.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND HOMICIDES

 A man was murdered on Memorial Day on Orren Court.

Also on Memorial Day a man was shot at the  pool of The Flats at Mallard Creek apartment complex.

2 people were stabbed and 3 people were shot on a very violent Memorial Day weekend.
