2 MEN CHARGED WITH MURDER OF TEENAGE BOY

Homicide Unit detectives in Charlotte, NC have charged a second suspect in the homicide of 15-year-old Daliamontray Strothers. On November 16, 2021 Taizojh Smith, 19, was charged with murder and other offenses. Dametrius Hilliard, 18, was charged with the same murder on November 2, 2021.

Daliamontray was shot and killed on Fairwood Avenue Charlotte, NC. Daliamontray was shot around midnight on October 12, 2021. Emergency medics rushed Daliamontray to the hospital, but just 2 days later, he was pronounced deceased. 

As a result of continued investigation, detectives identified Taizojh as a suspect in this case, and warrants were issued for his arrest. On November 16, 2021, Taizojh was located and arrested in Statesville, NC with assistance from the U.S. Secret Service and N.C. Highway Patrol. 

Taizojh is charged with murder, attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and three counts of shooting into occupied dwelling.

Dametrius was arrested in early November 2021 and is charged with murder, attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and three counts of shooting into occupied dwelling.
