28-year-old Fred Edwards was shot and killed on Christmas Day 2021 during a wild triple shooting on Beatties Ford Road Charlotte, NC. Fred’s brother Kenneth Edwards, 23, was murdered in December 2017 in Charlotte also.
Shortly after 2:13 a.m. on Christmas Day December 25, 2021, officers responded to reports of someone shot on Beatties Ford Road. When officers arrived, they located two adult male victims with apparent gunshot wounds.
One of the victims identified as Fred Edwards was pronounced deceased on scene by emergency medics. The other victim was transported to the hospital with a non life threatening injury.
A third victim with gunshot wounds was self transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation along with Crime Scene Search to process the scene and collect physical evidence. The Operations Command Unit, Real Time Crime Center Unit, and Victim Services Unit also responded to assist.
