MAN KILLED AFTER BEING HIT BY VAN ON FOOT

Barry Grier, 53, was killed on December 30, 2021, during a collision on Independence Blvd. Charlotte, NC at 5:24 p.m.

Barry was attempting to cross East Independence Boulevard and ran into the path of a Chevrolet Van. The van struck Barry. 

Barry had severe injuries from the crash. The van had extensive front end damage. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene. Barry was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Neither impairment nor excessive speed appears to be contributing factors for the driver of the van.
