WOMAN DIES FROM FENTANYL AND COCAINE TOXICITY

Recent findings show that Sompian Clay, 29, died from fentanyl and cocaine toxicity on May 5, 2022 in Charlotte, NC.

Sompian was with friends when she overdosed on cocaine and fentanyl. She was found unresponsive and had to be resuscitated and transported to a local hospital.

A few friends that were with Sompian had to be rushed to the hospital due to breathing problems. One woman was placed in ICU. One of Sompian’s friends that had to be hospitalized was a pregnant woman.

Sompian’s urine drug screen was positive for cocaine, she was also in shock with multiple organ failures. Sompian was briefly admitted into the ICU where she died.

In the past Sompian had an accidental drug overdose and had to be revived with Narcan.

Fentanyl causes vascular congestion and edema. Testing of Sompian’s postmortem blood revealed fentanyl and cocaine in her system. During Sompian’s autopsy exam, she had two white metal nipple piercings with red stones and a white metal
lower lip piercing.

María Esperanza Díaz, 26, died from a fentanyl and cocaine overdose on Glasgow Green Lane in Charlotte. She had just come to the United States.

Fentanyl and cocaine toxicity is Sompian’s official cause of death.
