Carolina Place Mall was the scene of a large fight on Memorial Day weekend 2023, May 27th. The mall was placed on lock down, due to reports of shots fired at the mall. Carolina Place Mall is located on Carolina Pl Pkwy, Pineville, NC.
Murders and violence are common around the Charlotte area on Memorial Day weekend. Around 6 p.m. a fight at Carolina Place Mall took place. A large group of people began arguing and fighting with each other.
The mall was crowded, and the altercation sent innocent shoppers running away. Loud bangs purported to be gunshots were heard during the royal rumble style brawl.
The group involved ran from the scene. The reported shots fired sent the mall into lock down for at least 30 minutes. The weather was rainy, which further delayed people from leaving the mall.
The mall was busy due to the Memorial Day weekend. Emergency crews arrived on scene, and it was determined that no shots were fired.
No arrests have been made. A few injuries occurred due to people hurt trying to exit the mall and avoid the melee.
