ONE STABBED ON CHARLOTTE LIGHT RAIL TRAIN

On June 15, 2023 a stabbing occurred on a CATS LYNX Blue Line light rail on South Boulevard Charlotte, NC. This is the latest violent encounter in a rash of incidences on CATS transportation.

At 5 p.m. an argument began on the light rail train. According to a statement from CATS, two passengers got into a verbal altercation on the train, and a passenger pulled the emergency stop handle. One of the passengers was stabbed, the fight then spilled out onto the tracks.

Paramedics were at the scene, one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed.

Light rail service in South End was suspended because of the fight and police activity in the area. Cops took one of the people into custody, according to CATS.
