Hassan was at Six Flags with his family for Columbus Day, as he was off of work. Hassan decided to get on the 200-foot-tall Goliath roller coaster with his son.
The roller coaster has been in commission since 2006. Hassan got on the roller coaster and several weird clicks were heard. People on the roller coaster began to complain about the loud clicks.
The roller coaster was traveling 70 mph when Hassan fell off the roller coaster as it was making a sharp turn. Hassan’s safety harness malfunctioned.
Hassan fell off of the roller coaster at a high altitude and his body inadvertently hit other people on the ride in rows before him. Hassan’s blood was splattered on the riders while they were locked in the harness and could not wipe the blood off of their faces.
Hassan then flailed out of control and landed on the roof of a haunted house, he died instantly in front of his family. Ride operators stopped the ride after seeing Hassan fall off.
The riders had to get off the roller coaster and walk down emergency steps that were high up. It took over an hour for all riders to be safely evacuated off the ride. 6 other people were hurt during the ride.
It is unknown what happened to make Hassan’s safety harness unbuckle or why the ride was making clicking noises. The family of Hassan and the people injured on the ride are now expected to file wrongful death lawsuits and other legal damages.
