On July 6, 2023 two twin baby newborn girls were found dead in the bathroom of a daycare in Chicago, Illinois. The daycare was in the Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and is used primarily for the children of hospital employees.
A 29-year-old woman was pregnant with the girls when she went to a bathroom by herself to deliver the girls.
The mother went to the first floor bathroom and went into labor, she released the babies from her private areas. The babies were found by a janitor in plastic trash bags covered in blood.
The mother was found in the bathroom also. Paramedics arrived on scene and the twin babys were pronounced deceased.
The mother was taken to Northwestern Hospital, her condition is unknown. The mother was not an employee of Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
No criminal charges have been filed yet, as authorities are trying to determine if this was a medical emergency versus a double murder.
