Corporate news investigative reporter Angelynn Mock was on TV, she killed her own mother. The reporter had mental health schizophrenia problems

Television news anchor Angelynn Mock, 48, was sentenced to prison in October 2026 for murdering her mom 80-year-old Anita Avers in Kansas. Angelynn killed her mom on Halloween night 2025. Angelynn was a on air news reporter at KTVI News from 2011 to 2015. She worked as a morning news anchor at KOKH News from 2007 to 2011.

On Halloween 2025 Angelynn stabbed her mom to death. Angelynn called police to the home after the murder. Angelynn came outside and was bleeding with cuts on her hands and arm.

Anita was found dead inside by police unresponsive in her bed with multiple stab wounds to her face, neck, torso, and arms. Angelynn had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizoaffective disorder.

Angelynn was arrested on scene charged with murder. During police interrogation Angelynn said she thought her mom was the devil and proceeded to murder her via stabbing.

In August 2026 Angelynn pled guilty to first degree murder. In October 2026 Angelynn was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years.
