Dorian Jackson died after drowning in Lake Norman on Sunday, he was in Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and student at black college North Carolina A&T State University
Dorian Jackson, 21, died on September 20, 2026 in Lake Norman during a drowning. Dorian was a senior business marketing major at North Carolina A&T State University. Dorian was also in the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Dorian was on Lake Norman with his family kayaking. His little sister’s kayak overturned and she plunged into the water. Without a life vest Dorian jumps in the water to save her. The little sister was struggling to stay afloat even though she had a life vest on. So many deaths have been reported at Lake Norman.
Dorian pushed her up into her boat to safety. Dorian however was sucked under the water due to the strong under current at Lake Norman. Dorian died via drowning. Water drones and divers were used to find Dorian’s dead body in the dark murky water.

Dorian was in the Alpha fraternity, the Alphas are required to spit egg yokes into each others mouths during the pledging process. The Alpha pledgees get in a line, a cracked uncooked egg is put in the mouth of the first person, and then that person has to spit the egg into the next persons mouth and so on and so forth until the last person in line. Fraternities have made the news a lot due to hazing and other issues.
The last person in line must then swallow the egg yoke after it has been in all the other members’ mouths.
