4 people have been arrested in connection with the Labor Day BBQ murder of Jevonni Johnson
Jevonni Johnson, 18, was shot and killed on Labor Day 2026 September 7th in Mt. Holly, NC. Ja’Quan Summers, 19, was charged with Jevonni’s murder. LaVonda McCorkle, 41, Sanayah McCorkle, 21, and Alexis Summers, 44, were also arrested in the case. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Jevonni was murdered in the late evening of Labor Day during a cookout. Jevonni was shot to death. Jaquan is accused of pulling the trigger to kill the victim. The other suspects are accused of cleaning up the crime scene and driving Jaquan to another location to elude arrest.
3 days after the murder the suspects were arrested. Jaquan was charged with murder. LaVonda and Sanayah were each charged with obstruction of justice and accessory after the fact of a first-degree murder.
Alexis was arrested and charged with felony accessory after the fact. Several people were murdered on Labor Day weekend.
