On Super Bowl Sunday February 11, 2024 Cydnee Dutton, 24, was killed while walking on South Tryon Street Charlotte, NC. Michael Putnam, 35, was arrested accused of killing Cydnee. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram.
Cydnee was walking around 12:06 a.m. on South Tryon St. A motor vehicle struck Cydnee. The vehicle fled to Interstate 77.Upon arrival officers located Cydnee lying in the roadway with serious injuries. While on scene, officers were unable to locate the vehicle that had struck her.
Cydnee was transported to Atrium Health Main Hospital with life threatening injuries.While at the hospital Cyndee was pronounced deceased due to injuries she sustained from the crash. As officers were on the scene of the crash, the driver of the vehicle that struck Cyndee called 911 to report that he struck a pedestrian.
The driver was identified as Michael. The suspect vehicle was stopped on the side of Interstate 77 near Clanton Road.
Officers responded to the location on Interstate 77 and located a vehicle with heavy front end damage. The DWI task force responded and found Michael to be impaired, cops say. Michael was arrested and charged with felony death by motor vehicle.
