WOMAN ACCUSED OF SETTING BOYFRIEND’S APARTMENT ON FIRE

47-year-old Shelaine Davis was arrested on February 9, 2024 accused of setting her boyfriend’s apartment on fire on Orchard Trace Ln. Charlotte, NC.

The fire was set on January 28, 2024, around 5 a.m. The fire was similar to the fire set in the ‘Waiting to Exhale’ movie.

The suspect had allegedly called the victim 29 times. Shelaine is also accused of sending text messages to the victim stating, 

“We ok u wanna play watch this” and “I told u stop playing with me.”

The text messages were sent a few minutes before the fire was set. The suspect was allegedly seen on surveillance video entering the victim’s apartment building.

Shelaine is accused of breaking into her boyfriend’s apartment and setting it on fire. The suspect then fled the scene.

Fire officials responded to the apartments after 911 calls were made, the fire department was able to put out the fire. A fire investigator conducted a fire origin and cause investigation and determined the fire was incendiary in nature. 

The fire was contained to the victim’s bedroom. The boyfriend stated that Shelaine was mad at him.

On February 9th Shelaine was arrested charged with breaking and entering along with first degree arson.
