The pastor of Life Tabernacle Church identified as Tony Spell was arrested on June 23, 2026 after the pastor was seen in video beating a 20-year-old man during a fight. Life Tabernacle Church is in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Pastor Tony Spell had an altercation with a male neighbor that lives across the street from the church. Pastor Tony said in a press conference that the victim threatened to rape, sexually assault, and kill Pastor Tony’s wife and kids. Click here to see more church news.
Pastor Tony then is seen charging across the street and confronting the neighbor victim. Pastor Tony grabs the man and starts punching him while also throwing him to the ground.
Pastor Tony gets on top of the man and continues punching him, and even begins to twist the man’s neck. Pastor Tony throws the man’s cell phone in the street.
Pastor Tony then kicks the man in the face. The pastor walks back across the street to the church after the fight like nothing happened. The victim called 911 and Pastor Tony Spell was arrested for second degree battery. The victim will likely now sue Pastor Tony Spell and the church for millions of dollars.
Word of the pastor’s arrest spread in the news, so Pastor Tony called for a press conference to address what occurred, in it the pastor said that the man threatened the pastor’s family by making remarks to rape, sexually assault, and kill the pastor’s wife and family.
