On July 23, 2026 Obadiah Walker, 18, Vincent Henry, 17 and Jakiya Ratliff, 17, were all charged with murdering Yamonnie Houston, 15, on Independence Blvd. Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Yamonnie and a second female victim were shot on July 10, 2026. The victims drove to a nearby hospital for treatment. On July 14, 2026 Yamonnie died at the hospital while in surgery. The second girl survived.
The suspects were later arrested on murder charges.
