A hoop star was killed on North Tryon Street during shooting
Marquaris Timmons, 24, was arrested on July 24, 2026 charged with the murder of Cameron Elijah Gilliard-Robinson, 20. The victim was murdered in a double shooting on July 10, 2026 on North Tryon Street Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Cameron was a basketball player. He is an alumni of Winston Salem State University and Garinger High School. Cameron and another victim were shot in the double shooting at 8 p.m. in the street. The street shooting led to 911 being called. An ambulance took both victims to the nearest hospital.
Cameron died at the hospital. The other victim is in intensive care. Marquaris was identified as a suspect and arrested on July 24th charged with murder.
