Here is the video footage of Jamariyae Dixon, 16, being shot and killed in Charlotte, NC. Marion McKnight, 21, is the man that killed Jamariyae in the shooting, but the murder charges were dismissed in April 2026 due to self defense claims. Marion shot 3 people at once, he was being cornered and likely in lieu of being attacked. Nazyr Perry was paralyzed from the shooting and needs assistance using the bathroom and eating. Jamariyae was murdered in a triple shooting on Memorial Day weekend 2025 in Charlotte, NC on Stroud Park Court during a fight. 3 victims were shot.
The shooting stemmed from Marion wanting to leave the gang that he, Jamariyae, Nazyr, Dru’Aviyon and others were all in. Jamariyae had a clear casket funeral dressed in all white.
The gang members didnt take very kindly to Marion wanting to leave the gang so they followed him around and harassed him all day.
Marion went to play basketball at a recreation center in the area, and the gang members followed him there and one of the idiotic gang members spit on Marion.
Marion left and went home, as he was in the pavement area of his property several of the gang members followed him and cornered him at his home.
One of the gang members says,
You’re trippin, gang, what are you going to do, shoot me?”
More chatter is heard on the video. Some of the gang members chest bump Marion and push him.
Marion is heard yelling leave me the fuck alone multiple times, he then pulls out a gun and starts shooting. Jamariyae, Nazyr, and Dru’Aviyon are all shot.
Jamariyae was shot in the head. Nayzr was paralyzed and now needs assistance eating, taking a piss, and defecating.
Seconds into the shooting other gang members on scene that were not identified shoot 17 shots at Marion’s house and then run. Dru’Aviyon was shot in the ankle.
A few days later Jamariyae died in the hospital on May 27, 2025. Marion was arrested charged with murder. He claimed self defense from the beginning of the criminal proceedings. He was later released on bond and given temporary ankle monitoring until the trial concluded.
Marion was punched in the head and kicked by Shaheem, it took court security a while to arrive. Marion had to be hospitalized. Marion can now sue Mecklenburg County and the sheriff’s department for not protecting him on public property in a secure area.
Shaheem was arrested charged with assault. Shaheem’s son Jamariyae was in the wrong for being in a gang and harassing Marion for wanting to get out of the gang. Shaheem was wrong for attacking Marion. Shaheem should of stopped his son from being in a gang, maybe Jamariyae would still be alive today.
The murder charges on Marion were later dropped due to self defense claims and lack of evidence.
