NO GREASE BARBER SHOP OWNER ARRESTED, ACCUSED OF HIDING SUSPECT IN BARBER SHOP DURING CHASE

One of the owners of No Grease barbershop was thrown in jail, accused of harboring a fugitive who was a student at No Grease

52-year-old Jermaine Johnson was arrested on November 21, 2025 accused of hiding a man in a No Grease barbershop in Charlotte, NC. Jermaine is the owner of No Grease Barbershop along with his twin brother, it appears that they are very wealthy. The business has multiple locations including SouthPark Mall, Concord Mills, and center city Charlotte. The arrest occurred at the 3731 North Sharon Amity Rd location.

The incident started on November 21st when officers were attempting to apprehend an individual wanted for numerous felony warrants. While attempting to apprehend the suspect, the suspect dragged a CMPD officer with a vehicle for approximately 200 feet.

The cop fell off the speeding car and was skinned up like a roasted pig. A vehicle pursuit was initiated and
the suspect ultimately fled from the vehicle on foot to 3731 North Sharon Amity Rd inside the No Grease
Barber School.

The suspect had been a previous student at this school and knew the building. The suspect ran into No Grease, when greeted by the staff instructors the suspect put his finger to his mouth in a silence hand motion.

Officers arrived immediately on scene and talked with Jermaine. Officers walked
through the barber shop section of the business in search of the suspect but were unable to
locate him.

With the assistance of police dogs and the Aviation Unit, it was determined that the
suspect was inside the No Grease business.

Cops asked Jermaine where the suspect was and Jermaine said “I told you he ran out of the back. They already checked, he is not here”.

Officers asked Jermaine if they would be able to look at camera footage to assist with the apprehension of the suspect. Jermaine stated that the cameras do not record while he is at the building and would not allow officers to verify the same.

Officers observed a locked door near the rear exit door of the business and asked a staff
member if it could be unlocked. Cops say Jermaine was hesitant to open the door for officers to conduct
a search of the room.

However, some how cops opened the door, likely illegally without a warrant. Once the door was opened officers did not locate the suspect but observed a small hole in the ceiling. Shortly afterwards the suspect fell through the ceiling tile and was apprehended.

Cops got mad and then arrested Jermaine charging with harboring or aiding a fugitive and resist delay
obstruct.
