A woman is going to the big slammer for killing her girlfriend during an argument
In October 2025 Marian Williams pled guilty to murdering her girlfriend Shaniqua Smith in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Marian had recently broken up with Shaniqua. The two got back together for a day and an argument began. In August 2023 Marian grew angry and strangled Shaniqua inside a residence.
Shaniqua died. Smith’s body was found outside their trailer; Marian fled but left her cell phone and ID near the scene.
She surrendered to law enforcement a month later after officers traced her to her hometown outside New Orleans. Marian was later arrested charged with murder, she was indicted for second degree murder.
Marian pled guilty and was sentenced to 50 years in prison.
