Latonya has been arrested a few times, some of which she has served brief stints in jail for, we checked and most of her charges were dismissed, but some she was found guilty of.
She bought a $50 scratch off Million Money Maker lottery ticket. Latonya scratched off the ticket and saw that she won $8 million, the top prize. There have been other lottery winners on West Sugar Creek too.
Latonya quickly made her way up to lottery headquarters in Raleigh, NC to claim her $8 million. Surprisingly, Latonya chose to collect $400,000 annual payments for the next 20 years, instead of a several million dollar lump sum all at once.
After required state and federal tax with-holdings, she took home $287,014. There may be a tax benefit for getting the annuity payments, but most people opt for the lump sum. The lump sum would of been $4.8 million before taxes.
