MALE VICTIM MURDERED IN JUNETEENTH WEEKEND SHOOTING

On June 22, 2025 Juneteenth weekend, a male victim identified as Dashon Sims was murdered during a shooting. DeShawn was shot on North Tryon Street Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

Close to 12:30 a.m. Dashon was shot. EMS was called to the scene, where the victim was declared dead. No arrests have been made.

Juneteenth celebrations tend to turn violent in Charlotte, Juneteenth celebrates the freedom of black people in the United States from slavery.

But oddly, it appears that much crime, murders, and shootings occur during Juneteenth.
