Mihael Stegne, 58, was killed in a fatal bicycle crash on June 12, 2024. The crash occurred on Steele Creek Road Charlotte, NC.
At 6:30 p.m. Mihael was riding a bicycle across Steele Creek Road when he was struck by a vehicle traveling in the southbound lanes with the flow of traffic.
Mihael was not wearing a helmet. He was knocked off the bike from the impact and thrown to the hard hot summer time road.

Paramedics arrived and saw the victim lying in the roadway unresponsive. The driver of the vehicle that struck Mihael remained on scene to speak with officers.

Excessive speed does not appear to be a contributing factor to this incident. The driver of the vehicle was not charged with a crime.
