Several vehicles were stolen from Charlotte Douglas International Airport
On May 21, 2025 Terrick Lumpkin, 39, pled guilty to a multi-million dollar car theft ring involving stealing cars at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, NC.

Terrick was responsible for stealing high end and luxury vehicles worth over $1 million
According to the sentencing hearing, between November 2023 and January 2024, Lumpkin and his co-conspirators obtained stolen vehicles from various locations throughout the United States, including in Charlotte, Illinois, and New York.
Several of the vehicles in Lumpkin’s possession were stolen from the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Lumpkin and his co-conspirators targeted high-end vehicles made by Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Lamborghini and Mercedes, and sought out sports utility vehicles, and other expensive models from Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, GMC, and Jeep.
Once in possession of the stolen vehicles, Lumpkin and his co-conspirators regularly altered or tampered with the stolen vehicles’ original VINs to avoid detection by law enforcement. During the conspiracy, Lumpkin often stored the stolen vehicles at the parking garage at his apartment complex.
He also possessed items in furtherance of the conspiracy including a key fob programmer box and blank key fobs.
Lumpkin was arrested in 2024. At his trial in 2025 he pled guilty to conspiracy and was sentenced to 42 months in prison and was also ordered to serve two years under court supervision for his role in the car theft ring.
