The victim told DSS that she was sexually assaulted by her dad for years
Jose Alfaro, 43, was arrested on March 6, 2025 accused of having sexual relations with his 8-year-old daughter. The female victim identified as Evelin Alfaro is now an adult. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
When Evelin was 17-years old in 2015 she told a DSS social worker that her father Jose had been sexually abusing her since she was 8 years old.
When detectives initiated the investigation, the victim was not comfortable following through with the investigation.
Evelin recanted the allegations to detectives. Years later in December 2024 the daughter, according to court documents went to the police as an adult and informed them that the initial allegations she made were true and her father did sexually abuse her allegedly.
The case was reopened. The victim says that when she was a child, her father would come into her room and have sex with her.
Also during this time frame, the victim says that her father Jose told her they were going to do something new, and he made her perform oral sex.
The father is also accused of coming into his daughter’s room and using sex toys on her. In 2025 detectives and Evelin conducted a controlled phone call with Jose.
Evelin confronted her father on the sexual abuse, and Jose allegedly did not deny it. On the recorded call, Jose allegedly said he did not have a reason for what happened.
The suspect is accused of making admissions about the sexual abuse and apologized to his daughter and asked for forgiveness, officials say.
Jose was then arrested charged with child rape, child sex offense, and other sex crime charges. The victim had a journal that talked about pedophiles and the sexual abuse her father allegedly did to her.
