Jakala Goode, 19, was murdered on July 28, 2024 in Greensboro, NC. She was found dead on a picnic table. Jakala’s boyfriend Kevin Zaire Lavaughn McLean, 27, is charged with murdering her.
At 7:30 p.m. Jakala was found dead on a picnic table in a park after being shot. A person walking in the park saw Jakala lying on the table motionless.
The witness called 911. Cops arrived on scene and declared the case a murder. Jakala had fresh gunshot wounds.
On July 30, 2024, police obtained an arrest warrant for Kevin on a charge of first degree murder for the homicide of Jakala. Kevin and the victim were in a romantic relationship.
Detectives arrested Kevin in Fayetteville, NC. He was transported back to Greensboro to face the murder charge.
Kevin was not given a bond.
