Emily Lizama Alvarez, 20, was shot on Vinton St. Charlotte, NC on February 8, 2025, she later died. Now a juvenile has been charged with her homicide. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram now.
On Feb. 8th at 1:25 p.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call. It was discovered that Emily had been shot and then crashed her vehicle.
Emily was found inside the car suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics transported Emily to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.
On Feb. 12, 2025 Emily was pronounced deceased after succumbing to her injuries. As a result of this continued investigation, detectives obtained a secure custody order for murder on a juvenile suspect in this case.
The juvenile suspect was already in the custody of the Stonewall Jackson Youth Development Center for an unrelated charge. The suspect is charged with murder.
