WELLS FARGO BANK EMPLOYEE EMBEZZLED OVER $30,000 BOUGHT PENTHOUSE SUITES

Rachele Renfrew, 33, was recently sentenced to prison in Charlotte, NC. A jury found her guilty for embezzlement and corporate malfeasance.

Rachele was an event planner with Wells Fargo, tasked with planning company events aimed at educating and assisting bank customers who were on the verge of defaulting on their mortgages. She used an internal company credit card to pay for penthouse suites, plane tickets and rental cars for her personal trips, and to pay more than $13,000 for catering for a private neighborhood holiday party.  

During her trial, Judge Eady-Williams sentenced Rachele to 5-15 months in prison; that sentence was suspended pending her successful completion of 24 months of unsupervised probation. Rachele was also ordered to pay a staggering restitution in the amount of $38,000.
